KEYFACTS

David Peters founded Agrofarm London Limited, which, through its subsidiary CAE, operates three biomass CHP (combined heat and power) plants in northern Italy, and he was a partner in the development of a biomass CHP plant in Sheffield (UK). He is also part of the management team working on the development of one of Europe's largest waste-to-energy (WWE) plants, a 102 MW facility in Boston (Lincolnshire, UK), which is currently undergoing the Development Consent Order (DCO) process and is scheduled to be operational in 2027.

...David Peters' extensive forestry and timber rights in Alberta and British Columbia (Canada). These were transferred to Coalternative Energy Ltd in 2023.

COALTERNATIVE ENERGY LTD. ...

...is building a "Black Pellets" plant in Meadows County, Alberta, which will be operational by the third quarter of 2028 and is expected to produce 360,000 tons of CAE Green Energy pellets per year. The entire production has been sold to Idemitsu. This amount is sufficient to supply 750,000 homes with clean energy.

THE SECOND...


CAE intends to replace the coal at the Belledune power station in New Brunswick, Canada.


The CO2 savings amount to 700,000 tons.


CAE has made an offer to the state-owned company NB Power, the owner of the power plant, to supply up to 400,000 tonnes of black pellets annually as biofuel to replace coal and maintain the power plant.

THE THIRD...

A structurally identical plant in a logistically ideal location (Nova Scotia) is currently under development. The existing white pellet plant currently produces 100 tons annually. CAE will expand the plant to produce 225 tons of white pellets and 200 tons of black pellets annually. The entire production has been sold to Total Energy, which will produce green energy pellets as a coal replacement starting in 2028. The raw material used will be the residue from the devastating wildfires.
